Winston made it to the ripe old ago of 14.5. He followed the world's most perfect dog, Chester, and boy was he a challenge. Winston, or as we called him, WinWillyP was a rebel without a cause. He flunked out of at least 3 or 4 training classes. All the other dogs would do "sit" and "down" and Willy would be rolling around on his back kicking his skinny awkward legs in the air. What was there to do but laugh. He was rescued from a backyard breeder in North San Diego County and was my 2nd dog behind Chester. Willy had “4 bad wheels” according to the vet. Without surgery, they estimated that he would not be walking past the age of 2-3. He had bi-lateral elbow surgery and was our oldest resident in 2020. As he aged, Willy had regular laser, acupuncture & chiropractic care (every 3 weeks or less if needed). Willy viewed his main job as protecting his mom. He was my side kick until the end and I loved that difficult little man. He stayed as close as he could to me and would have protected me with all his might, if called upon. Willy passed May 25, 2020 and we miss him so very much!
