CRICKET - IN FOSTER

Cricket is a 8 y/o shepherd mix with a corgi face. He's ADORABLE and has bunny-soft fur! He came from Arizona Humane Society where he was due to be euthanized for a heart murmur. He has had a full medical workup and is cleared to be adopted.  He does have a slight heart murmur but it's not enough to even need medication per our Vet. Cricket is now with a loving foster family awaiting his forever family.

HOPE

Hope came up to Dogtree from Yuma.  Volunteers brought Hope to Phoenix where she was met with another and then brought to Dogtree.  Hope would initially just sit and stare. We placed her in her own quiet room where she was monitored via camera.  After the third day, we said ok let's try to get to know the pack.  Consider it aversion therapy is how we explained it to Hope and she tolerated sitting in the living room as the other dogs just came in and out.  Another pup was especially fond of Hope and he snuggled next to her which she did not mind.  Eventually Hope got up and walked back to her bed however the very next day she walked back to the pack all by herself.  She is a beauty!  Her favorite place is the patio.  She likes to watch the activities and the pack from her comfy dog bed.  She is healthy and happy and would make a sweet addition to any family.

MATILDA "TILLY"

Matilda, or Tilly as we like to call her came to us from San Bernardino County Shelter where she was in an outdoor kennel in the heat of the summer in southern California.  Tilly was overheating and had a severe case of pneumonia and was quite overweight.  With a healthy diet and good care, Tilly has been able to lose weight and with the right medication, she is now healthy and happy in a short period of time.  She is now a nice 75 pounds and gets along well with the others.  Being about 8, Tilly has a lot of life to live yet.  She loves to play, go on walks, does well on car rides and is a natural protector but wants her own special person.  She likes Dogtree Pines but would do better in a home with only a dog or two as her roommates.

ROSIE

Rosie came to Dogtree with her roomie Lexi.  These two ladies (Rosie and Lexi) lost their owner who had 5 senior dogs.  The other three were adopted.  These two ladies were sitting at a Yuma shelter for weeks.  A shelter is no place for these two ladies, who spent their lives in the comfort of a home.  They were loaded into a transport van from Yuma to Phoenix.  From Phoenix, Cindy drove the Dogtree Pines SUV to bring these two ladies home.  On the way back, these two were treated to Puppaccinnos.  To  help ease their anxiety with a new place, we kept them together and they stayed in our garage on their first night.  Initially Rosie did stay close by Lexi's side almost as a protector, but they have since become their own individuals.  Rosie has decided that she is a water dog and loves our pool.  She gets along well with the pack and especially likes her walks. Her one floppy ear makes her unique and a volunteer favorite.

Rosie at 84 pounds and being younger moves around nicely.

OPSY - ADOPTED

MOOSE - MEDICAL HOLD

MOOSE - MEDICAL HOLD

Opsy is a puppy, less than 1 year old.  He is one of the 15 dogs selected to board the Dogtree Pines' Bus that went to rescue dogs from the California fires.  Opsy is about 40 pounds, a fixed male that we think is a Carolina Dog mix breed.  Opsy is a perfect puppy.  He spent about a month at a foster with another foster pup who was just adopted by a Vet Tech.  Our foster said that Opsy was the best pup and she is continuing to be a foster for other dogs. Opsy was set to go to a young lady who then had her father say no.  Opsy walks nicely on a leash and knows how to use the dog door.  He gets along very well with all the dogs at Dogtree and especially well with Hope our new elderly lady. Opsy would do  best with an active person or family.  We have yet to hear him bark.  He would like a home with another dog but don't think that is a requirement.

MOOSE - MEDICAL HOLD

Moose is STUNNING! Moose was rescued from Riverside County where he was picked up as a stray. Moose had severe ear infections in both ears and allergies causing hair loss on his trunk.  Moose is one special dog.  He cannot get close enough to his person and is a snuggle bug.  As Moose continues to be healthier, it seems that he is aging backwards. Moose is now looking for his forever family.  He walks nicely on a leash.  He loves chewing on his tennis ball and running through the back acreage.  He also loves playing with his "person" and can be seen doing quite awkward zoomies regularly. Moose would make a great family dog as he is sweet, protective and loving.

SAMMIE

Sammie is a retriever/german shepher/aussie mix that came from Maricopa County Animal Control where she was past her euthanasia deadline. She fit right in immediately. She is so cute with her one floppy ear. She is perfectly healthy, about 7 y/o, and is now looking for her own home. She is a great protection dog but also loves to play.

Age 7y | 50 lbs | Rescued 4.11.2025

LEXI

Lexi came to Dogtree as our largest pup at 124 pounds and she could not move around easily.  We put her on a healthy diet of boneless skinless chicken breasts and vegetables.  She is almost prancing now showing off her new slimmer look.  She is sweet and makes her way around the house and gets along well with all of the dogs.  Lexi came to us from an elderly gentleman going into hospice.  Lexi came with her roomie Rosie.  They both saw the vet at their initial checkup.  Lexi is a gentle giant and loves watching the world from the large front porch.  She has been sniffing the others and getting used to the beautiful landscape of DTP.  While Lexi and Rosie were roommates they are not bonded, have their own interests and would do well as a family pet.
