Twilight

We helped this little angel gain her wings yesterday. Twilight was not here long enough but, much like Stig, she blessed us with her presence before she left. She was such a sweet, sweet girl. We bonded immediately and she slept every night on the bed. Unfortunately, her kidneys were on their way to failing by the time she got here and despite everything we did, her little body was too far gone. She had a wonderful couple of weeks in the Pines running through the forest free as a bird. She loved it!!! She fell peacefully asleep, head in my lap, on her favorite bed here at Dogtree Pines. I can’t thank Dr. Joy enough for dropping everything and coming out on New Year’s Eve to help us out. Fly high sweet Twilight.

Twilight came to DTP from Tucson, AZ, where he blind owner was relocating to Alaska after the loss of her husband to be close to family. We jumped at the chance to take this 15 year old sweetheart and give her a nice place to retire. Much to our surprise, Twilight does not know that she's a 15 year old shepherd mix. She runs around playing with the zoomies like a puppy. She settled in immediately moving onto the bed on her first night. She LOVES it here and has a permanent smile on her face. She is as sweet as can be and loves her food!!! She is a tiny shepherd that looks like a mix between a coyote and our late Emilia (and she chatters for her food like Emmy too). In fact, I saw a coyote outside the fence today and had to look closely to see if it was her and she had escaped the yard.
