MY SWEETEST AND CUTEST LUCKY!
We lost one of the sweetest guys in the world last night. He started having seizures yesterday got a dose of phenobarbital but unfortunately passed peacefully last night. He was one of the best dog we’ve had and wish we had more time with him. However, we are so thankful that he did not die on the streets of Mexico alone. He knew immense love in the last month starting with Karen Melillo who rescued him off the streets of Mexico and contacted us. Gina Benner was sweet enough to deliver him to us and he’s had love and happiness Dogtree Pines ever since. He loved love and he loved food time. Just yesterday he “helped me grind chicken“ and I was amazed that he was still physically able to counter surf and try to steal chicken when I wasn’t looking. Thanks to my wonderful vets, Tammy and Delia at Harmony Holistic for answering my pleads on a holiday weekend to get him some medication. If I hadn’t, I would have always wondered if that would have made a difference. Rest peacefully my sweetest Lucky!

Lucky made it to Prescott from Rocky Point, MX. What a long and confusing journey he has been on in the last 4 days. Many thanks to Gina Hanson Benner for transporting and Karen Melillo for rescuing Lucky. He is about the sweetest boy I have ever met. I’m a bit worried about his health but we have an appt with our awesome vet, Harmony Vet Care, tomorrow to get a good once over. Let’s hope that everything ok! We’ll post an update tomorrow. Thanks to the people that donated to help Lucky’s medical care.

We saw our awesome vet today and everyone loved Lucky…of course. He was such a good boy and was so well bahaved. He had bloodwork, urine, fecal, x-rays, and ultrasound. Unfortunately, we got some bad news. Lucky has a lot of Medical issues. Most importantly, he was hit by a car. His intestines we shoved up into his rib cage when he was hit. This crowds the heart and lungs. He also has ear infections, a UTI, a grade 6/6 heart murmur, tick disease and back pain. Poor dude!!! Long story short, we are treating the UTI, ears, & tick disease, lasering his back for pain & looking at our options. He is happy, being spoiled, and not in pain (other then spine which we are treating).
