Sometimes  you come across a special dog that you just didn’t get enough time  with. That was the case with Boomer.  He came off the euthanasia list at MCACC.  In comes our army of senior lovers and another senior ends up here at  Dogtree Pines.  We are so maxed out here at the sanctuary that BOOMER  was taken because he had a foster set up in the valley.  Our wonderful,  well intending foster has a memory issues and was having big problems  with meds. Also, she was not quite  equipped to handle the extent of medical that BOOMER required. So,  Boomer made his way to Dogtree Pines.

We tried and tried, but his little body was  just too far gone. We cuddled in his dog bed at night in the garage  while he was in quarantine, and he tucked his head up under me. After  only a couple days, he whined when he heard my voice at the vet office.  He went for a couple walks in the forest and ate some good meals. This  morning I moved on to the floor next to his bed and  slept for a while with him because being close is what he desired most.  Today he couldn’t stand and his body said no more.
